13 for the road once more???

The first winter that we traveled, there were 13 of us. Dad, Mom, and 11 kids.

Then, one of those kids decided that he needed to get a real job - after all, he is 21. Last fall he landed the first (and only) job that he applied for; it was supposed to be pretty close to his dream job. It ended up being a big, boring, political mess, which he is still working at because he gave his word that he would stick around for a year. We really missed having him along last winter - checking out a new shooting range is just not quite as enjoyable without him.

So we have invited Greg to travel with us again this coming winter (and would LOVE it if he chose to!)...

but, it's looking more and more like he has his sights set on the National Guard.

However, even if we will be missing our Greg again this winter, it's looking like there will be 13 of us for the road again this coming fall...

Yep, God willing, we will be welcoming #12 in the middle of November.
Everyone is thrilled!
In families, love does not divide between children, it is multiplied; and even moreso in a large family.
We will be sticking around 'home' until Thanksgiving again this year since we love our midwife... Ideally, I would like to take the last half of Sept., and all of October, to tour the Oregon coast again, come back to the snowy mountains just long enough to have the baby, and then head out quick for any southern warm! :) I guess that will depend on how busy Vaughn is this summer, and the price of fuel next fall...

Anyway, we are all pretty tickled that God is gifting our crazy gypsy family with a new little blessing.

After all, even in 400 sq. ft., there is always love and room for one more!
(or 2 should Greg decide to come along and play our own personal historical tour guide again! ;)

  2. Congratulations! I recently found your blog and am so enjoying reading about your adventures. My family and I are looking forward to spending time in our toy hauler this summer, even if it is only the 5 of us :)

  3. Dana, I just discovered your blog yesterday. I have tried to research your blog, but have not found an answer to this question: What kind of vehicle do you use to pull your toy hauler and where does everyone sit? I want to go back and read every entry.

Thank you for sharing your journey!
