Cottonwood, AZ...

A week ago, we pulled into Cottonwood, AZ. It's about an hour north of Phoenix, and situated between Sedona and Prescott. It's NOT on the way to Uncle Larry's, which is supposed to be our destination.
The reason that we would make such big a detour was to meet MORE fulltime families!!
In our first 2 years of being on the road, we met ONE other family traveling fulltime in their RV. Now we are overdosing - 7 families in one week!!!! And it has been such fun!

The park we are at is pretty nice. No candy bar bingo, but they do have an OK playground...

which the kids have been to several times. When it's warm enough. Some days it's awfully chilly here ;) - mid 50s to mid 60s you know... at home in the spring I would have been saying,'it's beautiful out - go outside and play!' Guess I've acclimated to the warmth because I catch myself saying,'are you sure you want to go outside and play? it's pretty cold!' LOL!

The little girls are loving the playground...

especially Molly who is big enough to really enjoy playground equipment this year...

The other fulltime kids filled mine in on a fun activity at this park. It involves water...

waiting your turn...

and rope...

Even the timid at heart had to attempt it once...

after which timid decided...

that maybe it wasn't so scary after all...

After swinging alone, the guys had to attempt double rope-swinging...

well, then the little boys (who aren't so very little anymore) had to show that they could do it too...

we fully expected them to get soaked, but they didn't! Hard to believe that they hung on while laughing so hard they couldn't breathe...

Peanut, our petite daredevil, got some pointers from daddy...

and was ready to go even though she was just a little bit nervous. She would never admit that tho...

The little girls were probably the ones that liked it the most!

The kids were swinging for hours! all without incident.

But those boys!...wouldn't you know it...

PRIDE... (hey mom, watch this...)

GOETH BEFORE...

A FALL...

That was one fun day (like every day that we have been here), and the kids slept like a baby... :)

  1. I cannot believe more of them didn't hit the water. Do you realize how refreshing it is to see a Mom and Dad who let their kids be kids even if it means getting dirty or wet or overcoming some fear. What a joy you are.
